The Intellipure system being installed at The Grasshopper is just another precaution we are taking to keep patrons safe. We must obviously continue to follow all CDC, state, county and city guidelines. This is a big financial investment for a small business like Grasshopper, but safety of patrons and staff is our number one priority!

Step 1 - ventilate the space. As you may notice, The Grassshopper has a large “garage roll up” door facing Woodward. The garage door, along with the main entrance door will remain open during operating hours to allow fresh air to flow throughout the bar. We have also re adjusted our duct system to push fresh air from the rooftop unit into the main space. Opening up our windows reduces VOC levels in our bar – allowing fresh air to flow in and contaminated air to flow out.

Step 2 - purify the air. Airborne particles range in size from the largest (1000 microns) all the way down to the microscopic particles (0.01 microns). We cannot see particles smaller than 50 microns, such as fine pollen, mold spores, germs, dust mites, pet dander and viruses. This is where a powerful air cleaner can make all the difference, capturing all particles down to 0.007 microns – 40 times more efficient than HEPA regulations.

The Intellipure unit will run 24/7 365 days a year. We will not turn off the units when we are not operating. This will allow maximum effecincey of purifying the air at The Grassshopper Underground when the bar is closed. The Intellipure unit was extremely difficult to purchase (back order and high demand)
