Talent development platform Super-Sonic Jazz started in 2016 as a series of concerts and club nights at the legendary venue Paradiso Amsterdam to provide a stage for the new wave of contemporary jazz musicians in the city. An annual festival and the launch of the independent record label Super-Sonic Jazz Records followed. With experimental programming that blends traditional jazz with contemporary genres such as hip-hop, neo-soul, R&B and electronic music, Super-Sonic Jazz pushes the boundaries of what jazz culture means to listeners, enthusiasts and artists alike.
The fourth edition of the annual Super-Sonic Jazz Festival would have taken place at Paradiso Amsterdam in October, but given the situation, the festival was presented as a digital livestream festival instead of a physical event. The online edition continues the mission of Super-Sonic Jazz, which is presenting and promoting local talents that we believe in.
