At Unit Nine we pride ourselves on using our facilities & experience to merge music & education together.
In this video you will see a young person who was referred to us from a care service. He had never recorded in a studio before but loved rapping. He wrote his own lyrics but had zero structure to them.
The young person worked with Jamie on structuring lyrics, using different / positive language and then with Alfie & Leon, our studio engineers, they moved onto the recording stage. Alfie looked at ‘timing’ when recording and then after just a couple of sessions, this young person grew in confidence and was ready to record his first song.
Leon then took him into the studio and also worked on putting together a video so that the whole meaning of the song came alive.
This is just one example of the type of community focussed work we do at Unit Nine and we are extremely proud to do so.
