Subsonic Transmission 19.87 FM: BLACK LIVES MATTER

We interupt this week's scheduled Subsonic Transmissions 19.87 FM broadcast with a special #BlackLivesMatter edition detailing the infomation of some incredibly important causes, funds, petitions and actions below.

The shocking violent death of George Floyd in Minneapolis and the subsequent horrendous treatment of those protesting this atrocity across the USA has outraged all of us at the Sub Club.

Sadly these are just overt examples of the systemic RACISM that Black People & POC experience EVERYDAY ALL OVER THE WORLD. The rich dance music community that the Sub Club is lucky to be a part of would not exist without BLACK CULTURE, and the space itself has been steeped in the sounds of Black America since long before it even became the Sub Club, having been renowned as the jazz speakeasy Le Cave during the 60s and having hosted many world-famous jazz acts at that time. We owe so much to those amazing music & cultural communities & those artists that paved the way for the Global Dance Music movement we all know and love..

We firmly believe that to stay silent would be a betrayal to all those that suffer as a result of systemic racism and we fully acknowledge our responsibility to listen, learn, speak up and educate wherever possible.

We have seen such atrocities before but now more than ever we feel we should stand together as a community against inequality all around the world, and continue to strive for a new world order in which all human beings are treated equally.
