Following an audit by an Aberdeenshire council licensing standard officer, Police Scotland and a local authority compliance officer this afternoon our outdoor seating area was approved for drinking alcohol under the recent Covid safety guidance.

ALL tables and chairs are positioned for 1m social distancing allowing us up to four people at a table from four different households. This is for drinking only, chairs must remain away from the tables positioned as shown in the video. (Our outdoor capacity is now 70 people instead of over 200 with the new extension)

We will not be opening our indoor area for food and soft drinks as current Covid guidance makes it near impossible for us to do so.

Due to recent legislative and associated restrictions we have realised we are not yet in a position to open on Monday 26th April.

Further staff training, paperwork, signage and other Covid related safety measures are required in order for us to ensure a safer environment in accordance to the advice we received today by our local authorities.

As a consequence, we have taken the decision to remain closed for the time being until we feel we are fully ready to open.

We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause for the many table bookings made with us for next week, but we cannot afford to make any Covid safety errors in the short term through not being properly prepared as this would affect our alcohol licence going forward.

We will make an announcement when we intend to open again. All going well, it will be Monday 3rd May. If things change and we feel we are prepared to open sooner we will.

May we stress that the local authorities are taking Covid safety very seriously and it is of the utmost importance that the public follow all guidelines in hospitality premises as these businesses will be held accountable for your actions and suffer the consequences, which may result in closure.

We thank you for your understanding.

The Team at Cheers.
