In preparation for the show, check out this video from back when they performed at the Highline in 2016. Curious as to how the band got their name? As T3 recounts, “We wanted a name that could describe where we came from. Because we were from Detroit, we felt like we had our own community within the community, which is why we called it Slum Village. That’s the whole thing: we found each other doing music in Conant Gardens and not a lot of people are doing what we’re doing. We’d made our own community. That’s basically how we came up with that.”
