Every Sunday, the jazz is at a level that spoils anyone who comes into the room. But tonight, there were two very unique circumstances.
Firstly, the holidays brought out an extra 30% to the crowd, which meant they barely fit in the room.
Secondly, Stevie Wonder’s trumpet player (for as long as Phog has been open), Dwight Adams, sat in on most of the night. 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Austin DiPietro, trumpet player for the Coffee House Combo, has him as a teacher at Wayne State...so it was pretty cool that he came and played, and slayed. Jaws were on the floor. Mine included. Thanks to all the RIDICULOUS talent that sat in tonight...and the usual beloved CHC crew. One for the ages!
