Nyege Nyege x No Bounds 2020 Pt2 - Don Zilla
We are back with a very special broadcast for Nyege Nyege 2020!
NOTE - Wear headphones for this steam to get the full immersive audio experience.
For this livestream at NYEGE NYEGE 2020 we are re-broadcasting the performances as they were experienced at No Bounds Festival 2020 Virtual 3D. However we’ve commissioned extra visual art collaborations from more visual artists from the UK including Zaron Mizmeras and Dyllan Zain to add an extra fresh element to these audio journeys. Most of the music was premiered in the UK at No Bounds Festival and this will be only the second time this music has been aired in this way. It was always our intention to bounce this back the the festival that’s proved a huge inspiration to us here in Sheffield. The wonderful Nyege Nyege Festival.
Tonight!
Sunday 6th Dec
Don Zilla Special
Visuals by Dyllan Zain and Zaron Mizmeras.
Turkana and Chrisman will follow on Tuesday 8th.
For this collaboration between our festivals each artist submitted their music in stem format and our engineers remixed in the work for playback a special 16:8 multichannel 360 degree sound system. We worked with Huddersfield University’s Immersive Sound System (HISS) and Professor Chill to create a ring of 24 speakers that surrounded the audience of 24 socially distanced people for a fully immersive audio visual experience like no other. The audience was surrounded by projections of visual art on all sides and the audio was recorded and broadcast to the world via binaural technology to create an immersive, virtual 3D sonic experience for the listener at home tuning into the stream. You just need to wear headphones and you will feel like you are in the middle of this huge space with music all around you.
No Bounds 2020 Virtual 3D was a hybrid festival that responded to issues emergent in the year of the COVID plague that’s affected the entire world.
We set out to respond to the restrictions we were faced with in artistic terms and in terms of what went down and how we delivered it.
It was an incredible experience, one we will never forget, in all of its dystopian strangeness.
We hope you are all well and safe out there. We look forward to 2021 when we can party again in person:)
