'When I was 19, I wrote a song about racism and discrimination
This song came to life after a conversation with a friend who shared with me his experience. While listening, I quickly realised his experience was also an experience I shared. The truth is, throughout my journey as a musician I've also shied away from sharing the stories behind my songs, but time away from social media made me realise we need healthy dialogues on issues affecting our social world. Whether it's on race or gender discrimination. I've also learnt that approaching conversations with the intention to positively expand your consciousness rather than disprove or argue someone's else point of view is healthy for our mental health.'
