"It’s hard to imagine that what I have to say will surprise anyone who knows me. It is an honor to have been asked to share a bit about myself, and I hope my story will provide comfort to some young person who may be experiencing the same feelings I did while growing up.
We find ourselves living in unprecedented times, facing vulnerabilities personally and in our communities that are tough and challenging.
It’s also a historic moment in which to ensure protection for those most vulnerable and to promote fairness and equality for ALL.
We must not be complacent. We must speak out and push for needed change with bold intentionality. In that regard, I am honored to be asked to share a bit about my life journey."
- Sammy Moon, Executive Director, Mississippi Alliance of Nonprofits and Philanthropy
At the Community Foundation for Mississippi, we imagine a Mississippi where every community is connected to the resources, knowledge, and tools to create meaningful and lasting change – for Mississippi, for good. Forever.
We are engaged in world building, imagining what is possible for public life, education, community development, arts and culture, and other areas of charitable philanthropy in Jackson and Mississippi, with our partners and investors.
When we engage in reimagining public life, anything is possible! A spark of imagination is a necessary ingredient for change to happen. Before change can happen, somebody has to imagine what that change looks like.
