Frollein Smilla loves variety, in terms of style, instruments, even language. She loves the variation, and there's no lack of changes in tempo, dynamics, harmony and rhythm either. What she doesn't like is reduction to a common denominator. The concerts also celebrate the high art of musicality. Piano, accordion and multilayered horns, sensitive and energetic percussion, acoustic and electric guitars and basses are brought richly to life with great feeling and even greater skill. All this is crowned by the mesmerising, hearty harmonies of the polyphonic vocals in English, German and Spanish.
