“As the Corona crisis started, I was on tour through France. It was a moment of uncertainty that forced us to make a decision. So on the third day we cancelled the tour and went back to Berlin. In the next few days all of our shows and tours for the year were cancelled as well. In such a short notice, artists and performances disappeared from public space: no gigs, no expositions, no concerts. Cultural life came abruptly to standstill.
Art itself originates mostly behind closed doors. Places that an outsider rarely sees, since an artist presents her/his work in the public stage after it was created in solitude. So I decided to visit all these people in their homes and show the public that art is still present.
The purpose of this series is to be a documentation on the life of artists under the lockdown. It should be a testimony of these extraordinary times and yet of the ordinary that remains invisible.”
