Our marvellous Saturday night resident, Esa, teamed up with Resident Advisor to explore how the Bubblegum, afro-synth sounds of 1980's South Africa helped inspire resistance to the countries repressive regime.
After such sounds were consumed, spat out and lost, the video also takes a look at how such sounds have been rediscovered and are frequently played out by many of todays favourite DJs.
