A musical message in from musical polymath Ed Harcourt in support of our Crowdfunder. A little known fact for you all... The "up to Lexington..." line in The Velvet Underground's I'm Waiting for the Man was what we named The Lexington after!

Here's his full message:

It’s a rainy day & life is moving at a opium-addicted snail’s pace. But even if the world is on a razor’s edge & our minds are frayed & distressed, we must reach out and help each other if we can. Yesterday the amazing Music Venue Trust started a campaign to help the 100’s of grassroots live venues across the U.K. get donations and support, as they are under threat from closure. I won’t waffle on too much here, as I pretty much say everything in the video. I’m focusing on the The Lexington, a magnificent little venue on Pentonville Rd run by the ace Stacey Thomas. This is ‘I’m Waiting For My Man’ by the Velvet Underground. ‘Scuse the ham fisted bum notes, deceptively simple songs create a sense of false security 😅Link is in bio [below], thank you so much for watching & listening, let’s help save this brilliant venue! Stay safe & lots of love, Ed x. #savethelexington #saveourvenues #grassrootsvenues
