Last night at Club VOLT we had the Season 5 finale of our FACELIFT competition after 4 months of quality rounds with an average of 12-15 entertainers competing weekly for a spot in the finale! We ended up with 11 amazing contestants battling it out in the Finale & are ready to win that crown!
Back in September when Season 5 started the very first qualifying round I received a message from a woman named Kaydee asking if it was okay to bring her drum set to perform an original song during the face lift competition! I immediately said of course this competition is for all types of entertainers not just drag.
Kaydee came that night and we were all amazed at her talent! She unfortunately didn’t win but over the course of the 4 months Kaydee came to every preliminary week & I believe it was about mid way thru around the 7th or 8th round she landed her spot in the Finale and won a preliminary week which is solely based on votes by the audience. (each drink purchased gets a vote)
During this time Kaydee was coming to our other shows and just enjoying the club and I got to talk to Kaydee more and more and I found out that her first time competing in FACE was also her first time in a gay/LBGTQ establishment and she told me how she had transitioned later in life and didn’t really go
out much but after coming to VOLT she felt at home! 😭😭😭
Flash forward to last night 4 months after meeting Kaydee she walks in for the finale in full drag beat for first time ever while rocking a orange lace front and cute a dress! She was ready to let the children have it!
Flash forward again to the end of the night after all 11 incredible entertainers worked it out to a packed house with people wall to wall! Now it’s time for crowning and all the votes from the night have been counted! Honestly it could be anyone who was going to snatch the crown, the cash, the doll made by Georgina! And ultimately become our FACELIFT winner of our biggest season yet!
