The Daiquiri has morphed into many forms since it's introduction in the early 19th Century; one of the most popular versions being the Strawberry Daiquiri. We make ours by blending Havana 3 Rum, fresh strawberries, fresh lime, strawberry puree and syrup.

The traditional Daiquiri did not begin as the frozen, fruity concoction we know today, however. The original recipe called for rum, lime and sugar or syrup; it was as simple as that! The Daiquiri's origin, on the other hand, is not quite as simple. Like many classic cocktails there are a number of theories surrounding the Daiquri’s history. One theory states that steel worker Jennings Stockton Cox led an expedition to Sierra Maestra mountains close to the town of Daiquiri to capitalise on the Cuban iron mines following the Spanish-American war. While entertaining guests from the mainland Cox ran out of gin. He did, however, have a good stash of the local rum. Rather than offer his guests straight rum, Cox mixed it with lime juice and sugar, thus creating the Daiquiri.
