Beats is in cinemas today!

Having been to see a preview screening last weekend, we can wholeheartedly recommend you go and see this excellent wee Scottish indie film as soon as you can. If this weekend's box office reception is a success, then it should get a decent run.

It's got a great script, by the original playwright Kieran Hurley and director Brian Welsh, plus some very fine acting, not least by the two leads, Cristian Ortega and Lorn Macdonald. With all the tunes in it curated by Glasgow's legendary JD Twitch of Optimo (Espacio) and an original score by The Golden Filter, it sounds great, too!

Executive produced by Hollywood legend Steven Soderberg, there's a real chance this could be "the next Trainspotting or Human Traffic", although it's obviously a very different tale....

"Beats Film 'IMO' is nothing short of brilliant. Character portrayal and acting is spot on, and unlike every other film about the rave era, they absolutely nailed it. Tense and almost dark in places, but highly recommended' Mark Archer (Altern 8, NEXU$ 21)
